And things come to a halt

This month has been worse than normal.  I’ve still been having a lot of nausea, heart burn, reflux, and abdomen/chest discomfort.  I’m seeing a gastroenterologist on Monday (a week from today) to get it checked out.  I’m pretty sure I’ve got a Hiatal Hernia and it’s really not happy.  I haven’t been running at all this month.  It seems to aggravate whatever is going wrong with my stomach.  I have, however, still managed to lose 5 more pounds instead of gaining weight (I’m at 253lbs currently).  I hope to get this stuff fixed soon.  =\

Thanks for checking in on me Jonathan!  Things with my diet/exercise routine haven’t been going to well (I guess the diet’s been decent).  I’ve been sick off and on again for the last week or two.  I haven’t really felt terrible… just haven’t been able to force myself out the door haha.  I’ll get back into it as soon as I get over this cold/sinus infection!

Away from home Run

I’m in Lexington, KY visiting family this week.  I went for a run.  I scoped out a 1.7 mile run… somehow around 1.5miles I got lost and had to stop.  Luckily I run with my iPhone 4 and I was able to just use my GPS to get back on track.  Most of it was uphill.  I was really tired after the run haha.

I didn’t get to post this yesterday.  A loss of 5 lbs in a little under two weeks.  Not too bad considering that I haven’t really exercised the way that I wanted to.  I’m hoping for 252 on Nov 1st!

Official 1.5mi Run!

Monday night I ran somewhere between 1 and 1.5 miles.  I didn’t run my usual loop and runkeeper wasn’t working so I couldn’t be sure.  Tonight, I ran a full mile and a half.  I’m quite happy!  I’m going to go for 1.75 miles on Friday then, hopefully 2 miles on Monday.  I can’t wait.

Back from the dead!

So after my last post… nothing happened.  I continued feeling bad for the better part of a week.  Yesterday, however, I actually started feeling a bit better.  I went out for a run today.  Runkeeper would not track me via GPS so I’m not exactly sure how far I went but, it was probably around 1.5 miles.  I had no leg or back pain for the first time!  It was great.

On a brighter note, my diet’s been going very well.  I’ve absolutely been eating less than 2000 calories per day (probably closer to 1500 on most days).  There have been a few exceptions (dates with Jenny, etc…) but, for the most part, I’ve been doing pretty well.  Zach and I came up with a new rule.  One morning per weekend we’re allowed to have McDonald’s Breakfast.  I definitely won’t be eating a Big Breakfast anymore, but I’m excited about it!

I’m going to force Zach to run with me on Wednesday.  Should be great.

Time to get to it!

Finally got my medicine straight and I woke up feeling great.  Time to get back to it!  I’m taking Jenny to pick her car up from the mechanic then I’m going to come home and run!

What a day

Yesterday was certainly a hell of a day.  I went to the doctor to have him assess my stomach issue I’ve been having recently (and the sinus infection from hell that I’ve had for several weeks now).  He thinks I have an ulcer or gastritis.  He prescribed some medicine for that as well as an antibiotic for the sinus infection (amoxicillin again).  The pharmacy couldn’t fill the stomach medicine because my insurance decided to be difficult.

I took the amoxicillin last night and, after two or three hours, it made me deathly ill.  I spent several hours in the bathroom throwing up.  Needless to say I didn’t run yesterday and it’s likely that I won’t get to run today.  I feel very weak today.  We’ll see what happens tomorrow I guess.

The Soda Decision…

I can’t decide if I want to quit soda completely (cold turkey), allow myself one soda per day, or allow myself 3-5 sodas per week.  These would, obviously, be diet soda.  I just feel like it’s so bland to drink nothing but water/gatorade/green tea.  I have two sodas left at work.  I might partake in one tonight.  We’ll see.
